12_Vayechi: (1 of 2) Terrifying Darkness

In this Torah teaching from ZARABEN.ORG Studios, RC JedidiYah recounts a personal experience to illustrate the concept of obedience versus rationalization in adhering to spiritual principles. He shares a story about leaving his computer bag in his truck and facing the dilemma of retrieving it without violating the Shabbat law of not carrying a load in and out of the house. RC JedidiYah discusses the natural inclination to justify actions contrary to YHVH’s Torah and emphasizes the importance of aligning thoughts and actions with YHVH’s divine will, likening the process to the tests experienced by those in the Torah. He also touches upon broader themes of cleanliness, submission, and the potential for deception within one's own thoughts, institutions, and even loved ones. RCJ concludes by urging listeners to rely on the unchanging voice of YHVH for guidance in all aspects of life.
